William Arendell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University. He began working with children with Attention Deficit Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder using neurofeedback and biofeedback in 1996 at the Institute for Neurobiofeedback and Barclay Family Care in Michigan, where he developed a reputation for being able to work with more difficult children, severe emotional problems, and adults experiencing insomnia, depression and stress. During this time he also worked as a social worker for the Open Door in downtown Detroit with homeless afflicted with addiction. During his career, he conducted a study with Oakland University and the Institute for Inner Resources (the first to use neurofeedback to treat heroin and crack addiction), worked at Women’s Hope (Boston), and conducted stress reduction workshops for hospitals and mental health workers. Later at Bridge House (New Orleans), Will rebuilt the clinical program at the treatment center. Will currently works in private practice in New Orleans, and conducts trainings for beginners and advanced students who want to learn stage hypnosis. William is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), EMDR consultant, and certified in Trauma Relief Exercises (CTRE).
